He’s from the Pacific Northwest and Alaska area and together they’ve spent a lot of time there, so they were looking for a location on the East coast that reminded them of the place where they will say “I do”.  Van and Adrian found me online and asked me about taking their engagement photos in preparation for their Washington state wedding next year! The both love the outdoors and wanted their engagement session to reflect that.  Because we were nearing the end of the year, my schedule was a little hectic so when they mentioned being open to a sunrise session it was perfect.  The only problem was I think we chose the absolute coldest morning of the Fall to meet up at a park in Rockville, Maryland. While we didn’t have many leaves and Autumn color to work with they were absolute pros when it came to posing and interacting as if it were 65 degrees outside.

Both Van and Adriana are DC commuters working on their Master’s degrees, so our session during their Winter finals was the small break they needed before diving back into the books before their break. What I loved about their session was their willingness to embrace my ideas…even if it meant standing on a ledge above the water or climbing onto a log in order to get the shot!  Adriana has a sweet and caring spirit that balances Van’s friendly and outgoing personality.  Together they make one beautiful couple that I enjoyed spending a few hours get to know more about them.  Take a peek at some of my favorite images from their session!  Congratulations Adriana and Van…the countdown is on!!!
