She greeted me at the door of her parents’ home with a huge smile and the warmest hug I’d received all week and in that moment it felt so right! You see, there is always a sense of nervousness that enters my spirit right before I meet a new client and it comes from my desire to want them to have the best wedding photography experience possible! All of my contact with Jaimie had been over the phone and over email because she was working in Thailand up until the month before her wedding!! The calls happened as she was ending her day and I was just beginning mine. We made it work and we made time to discuss every detail of her day from the story of how she met Bobby, to the vision for her wedding day, no stone was left unturned.  And that, friends, is what excites me about every bride that I am blessed to work with.  I always hope that they’re nice and so far those hopes have turned into reality.

When I asked Jaimie what she was most looking forward to on her wedding day, she responded with a big smile and confident glow “I am excited to celebrate with everyone. It will be like one big family reunion”. Not only was Jaimie and Bobby’s wedding a big family reunion, everyone of their guests clearly understood that they were the stars of the evening. Her fun and bubbly bridesmaids made sure that she ate and had every detail taken care of for the big day! 

Jaimie told me that she wanted her wedding to be different and no detail was lost in doing so, her bridesmaids wore the perfect blend of blush, mint and gold, her Ring Bearess carried a gorgeous multicolored Faberge egg down the aisle to symbolize the delicate commitment the couple were preparing to profess in front of their friends and family and her 3-year old flower girl / niece with a personality that would force Myers-Briggs to come up with new letters! This day was planned to a “T”!

Bobby and Jaimie first locked eyes on one another as she walked down the aisle on her father’s arm and across the soft pink rose petals on her custom aisle runner. Bobby’s smile signal his approval and the ceremony began.  

The details continued on to the reception that was held at Martin’s Caterers by Camelot with custom table cards, wedding favors, a dessert bar for days and letters to the couple from Governor Terry McAuliffe and President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama!
