There are some people that have been on this journey with me from the beginning and I can’t begin to thank them enough!  They’ve seen me grow, they wished me well, they’ve commented on my work either online or in person and none of it ever gets old to me…it’s actually quite humbling when someone chooses me out of the thousands of photographers out there.  I don’t take it for granted!  That is pretty much the love that Gene and Joy have showed me from very early on in this journey!  I’ve known Joy since college and to see her raising her family with Gene is such a beautiful thing.  She’s one of the people that I know has crossed my path for a reason greater than I can comprehend and even when I’ve doubted myself, a brief quick word of encouragement always seemed to come from her at the exact time that I needed it.

I’ve gotten to a place that I am no longer able to accept new family portrait clients because I want to give my brides and grooms the attention they deserve leading up to, on and after their wedding day and I was finding it hard to balance it all.  So, Gene and Joy’s family, and a couple of others, are the few that I am able to make an annual spot on the calendar for and maybe one day I’ll be able to accept new families because children crack me up, but in the meantime, I am blessed to have my  hands full.  Here are a few photos from our recent session in Downtown Fredericksburg.  I love how Gene and Joy always make time to grab a few photos of themselves during our shoots and I love how connected they are on and off camera!  Here are a few faves:
