Vendor Spotlight, Weddings

There are so many moving parts to a wedding day and there are a  number of wedding professionals that come together to make a bride and groom’s dream day come true.  Sometimes the wedding professionals work in silos and we may never get a chance to meet and sometimes, as in the case of the wedding planner, we are in contact before, during and sometimes after the wedding.  When I interact (directly or indirectly) with wedding professionals that I think are awesome, I want my brides or potential clients to know how awesome they are as well!

Today’s vendor spotlight is on Love Blooms – a DC area floral artist. She created the amazing floral bouquets and centerpieces for Erica and Peter’s wedding last month and while I didn’t interact with her directly she was amazing via email.  It’s helpful when I’m taking detail shots (rings, dress, shoes, etc.) to have the bride’s bouquet in case I want to add a floral detail shot or two.  It’s surprising when I can’t get the bouquet in advance because it’s a win-win situation when I can capture these images because I am then able to give images of the day along with images of the florists work back to them after the wedding images have been delivered to the couple.

I let Erica and Peter’s wedding planned- Lacoya- ask Emily of Love Blooms is the bouquets could be delivered to the bride’s hotel room and I was so excited to see them waiting there when we arrived to start shooting.  While I’m not perfect, I try and get as many detail shots for the vendors as I possibly can.  I figure if a bride spent more than $5 on a wedding item then it’s worth capturing.

Thank you Emily for helping Erica’s vision come to life for her wedding day.  D.C. brides-to-be, if you are looking for a floral artist, please check out Love Blooms!
