I know I’ve said this before but I adore hearing a couple’s love story- how they met, their first date, the proposal, etc.  Sometimes I’ll ask in greater detail about what drew one to another in the hopes of re-igniting the spark in their eyes when they first fell in love.  Peter and Erica are two very special people that I was fortunate enough to meet and connect with last year.  Many of my referrals are by word of mouth, however they found me via one of my blog features on Capitol Romance – a D.C. area blog!

Peter and Erica met while they served in the Peace Corps.  I loved how their priest said they both went to Morocco to be of service to others and they led their hearts to one another in service as husband and wife. Their day was beautiful and although the forecast called for 70% chance of rain, there day was completely rain free!  As photographers, we are always trying to think of a plan B when rain is in the forecast, so it makes it that more awesome when it doesn’t happen. Instead we had a natural diffuser with the clouds in the sky that made taking photos outside more desirable.

After the ceremony, the couple wanted to take photos at the Anderson House, an absolutely beautiful museum, which sits next door to the Fairfax at Embassy Row, so we made arrangements to do so for some of their formal and bridal portraits. I love the originality that my 2014 couples have shown in their venues, decor, and style.  Here is a recap in photos of their day!
