It’s here, it’s here, it’s here!!!! To say I am excited today is an understatement!!!  Something that I’ve wanted for my business for almost 2 years finally happened!  I hated the teaser countdown as much as everyone else because the anticipation can be nerve racking. It was actually hilarious to read some of the text messages and emails that I received from people trying to guess what it was!  So I had to answer, no to the following questions: I am not quitting my day job, I’m not rebranding- although I have made a few tweaks to my website and blog, I’m not moving, I am not getting married and I am not expecting (whoa!)…oh and I’m not being a drama queen!!!  I did, however, think this was special enough to deserve a little attention!

So what is it?  It’s my new Brand (Promo) Film for Terri Baskin Photography!!!  The hints were right in the pictures that I posted on social media and with the help of Cinematographer, Doug Stanford, I was able to bring to life what The Wedding Experience would be like for current and future couples! So, why is this important to me?  I’ve always wanted some type of motion on my site and a way for clients to get a piece of me before ever meeting me, but I didn’t want a video where I was just talking to the camera.  I wanted something upbeat, something fun and something professional that really showcases me and my style before, during and after the wedding day!

No matter how crazy a wedding day gets, I want my clients to enjoy their day because their photos (and possibly video) are all they have once the pomp and circumstance of the day is over.  When my clients look back at their photos, I want them to remember the happy moments of the day- the first time the groom sees his bride, their first portraits as husband and wife, their first dance, the friends, the family and the party!  The only way that I could give you all a taste of it was to put my vision onto paper and then put that paper into motion and, for me, Doug nailed it!

The creative process for this video was me sharing with Doug my ideas, an outline of what I wanted captured and allowing him freedom with the rest!  Doug met me in person for the first time on the day of the shoot and he captured me as if he’d known me for years!  If you need a wedding videographer or you’re a creative in the Virgina/DC/Maryland area that’s looking for a promotional video- check him out!
