So we’re over halfway through the year and it amazes me how fast time seems to fly these days.  I decided earlier in the year that July would be my vacation month and while I haven’t been shooting this month, I have been getting a lot accomplished on the administrative side of the business.  I’ve put some new systems into place for efficiency and I am continuing my photography education…oh, and I have a trip to the beach (my happy place) happening really soon!

As August starts round 2 of wedding/photography season, I am reminded of why I do this.  As I was driving today, a photo from one of my weddings popped into my head, so I decided to dedicate a blog post to some of my favorite moments from 2014.  For the sake of time and so that this post doesn’t contain 200 photos, I grabbed the few that popped to the top of my head.  Every time I shoot, there is always a photo that sticks out to me.  It may not necessarily be the best composed or most flattering, but it’s the realest photo- not posed and not choreographed and that’s why I love them!  There are a few supporting photos that give the moment I captured some context, so here they are and please don’t be mad if you see yourself!  LOL

This image of Jered walking down the aisle at the start of him and Brittani’s wedding is what sparked this post.  I love this image and wonder what he was thinking.

Preparation shots can lead to so many different emotions.  I’ve seen brides cry, laugh, meditate and just concentrate on everything that is about to happen.

Brittani and her bridesmaids were headed to change from their heels to their Converse.  I think she is walking with purpose in this photo!
I often look at photos and wonder what was said right before this moment!

A great DJ can do so much for a wedding reception!!!

I told Britney to scream as loud as she could…then I kept making her do it.  People thought we were crazy!

After screaming, Britney decides to strike her own pose!

I love the look Bri gives to her soon-to-be brother in law as she comes down the aisle right before Brittani!
Kathryn gave a quick glance to her Maid of Honor and was met with approval!

That one time a random puppy ran up and started licking Morgan while I was taking her sister’s Cap and Gown photos.

Such sweet moments!!!
You don’t want to know how many times Natarsha had to blow confetti to get this shot!  LOL! That stuff has a mind of its own!

You can’t hear his voice but you better believe this man of Omega Psi Phi can SING!!!

That one time I raced thru the mountains after work to get to JMU to see and congratulate sweet Morgan on joining Delta Sigma Theta Sorority!!

The second half of my season begins next week so stay tuned for an end of the year recap of those moments!
