I get extremely excited when my friends share their life changing events with me- engagements, weddings, children, graduations, promotions, etc. I am equally excited when I am able to celebrate with them. I have known about the joy Allen brings to Farrah for some time now and if you want to see what true love looks like, they are the epitome of it. For Farrah and Allen, it wasn’t a matter of if they would get married because we always knew the day was coming. Last October when Farrah scheduled a conference call with some of her best buddies, we knew the announcement was coming. Fast forward to this past weekend, they were able to profess their love in front of their family and friends. One of Farrah’s bridesmaids said “it was like Farrah and Allen were on their own planet and we getting a glimpse into their world”. I was extremely honored when Farrah asked me to photograph her wedding because it meant that she trusted me with one of the most important days of her and Allen’s lives. I love that Farrah allowed me to offer shooting recommendations, one of which included shooting her bridal party portraits in the rain…to be fair it had stopped raining and then started drizzling before another downpour of the day came. I am always nervous when I ask couples to do something a little risky for the sake of photos, but both her and Allen are “go with the flow” type of people and I love that. The only requirement Farrah had for me on her wedding day was to not wear black. In her words “I want you to look like my guest and not like you’re working. You can’t wear a black shirt and black pants”. It’s funny because this wedding season, I haven’t worn pants at all. I shoot in dresses or skirts because I feel more professional and I feel like a guest and I blend in better despite the 2 cameras that I carry !Farrah and Allen I wish you a lifetime of happiness and smiles and if Saturday was any indication I know your lives together will be awesome!
