Often times I look at a couple and they just look like they belong together.  This is the case with Angela and Courtney.  They were a referral from a former bride of mine so I had not met them previously until the day of their engagement session.  The way that Courtney looks at Angela proves that there is no doubt whatsoever that he truly cares about her.  We shot their engagement session at the Norfolk Marina on a foggy and rainy day in February.  View those photos here.

Their wedding day was one of the hottest days in July!  And as fate would have it the air conditioning went out in one area of the church, so that made for an adventurous time as the men dressed for the ceremony.  Despite the heat, they both were focused on the bigger picture of preparing to say ‘I do’. Their ceremony was held at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Newport News.  This was special to Angela because both her mother and grandmother were married in this church.  The ceremony was a few miles away at the Hilton Garden Inn in Suffolk.

After the sacred ceremony, the couple showed that they know how to party with a series of games and dances at the reception.  Let’s just say their first dance is one for the record books! My favorite moment of the evening was Courtney professing his love for Angela and although he wasn’t able to write his own vows, he wanted her to know just how much she meant to him.  Talk about a truly touching moment! Courtney and Angela, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.  Congratulations!
