So as I have mentioned before, one of my goals for this year was to redesign my home office.  While I get compliments on my space often, it’s still lacking something.

I started by purchasing a new desk from Office Depot that had more storage space because a cluttered desk drives me crazy.  So I end each work day by putting away every piece of paper, every to-do list, and branding item that I have out.  Starting each day with a clean desk allows me to think more clearly about the tasks that I need to complete each day.

Below is a before and after photo of my desk space.  I chose to select a lighter wood because my office is small so I didn’t want to make it look smaller with a dark wood desk.  At the same token, I decided not to purchase a white desk for fear of it getting dirty.  This is the same reason why I don’t own white appliances!

Please excuse the quality of the photos, they were taken with my phone and while it’s not perfect in a designers’ eye, it was definitely a step in the right direction.  I just purchased a larger monitor to help with editing photos and my next step is to add more of my work to the walls in the form of canvases. When that project is complete I will post the photos!  Stay tuned!
