Have you ever met someone for the first time and you just seem to click with that person?  It’s one of those things that I can’t quite put my finger on, but that’s exactly how I felt when I met Catra and her fiance’, Vernon.  Catra was a referral my way from one of the member of my church- Tisha- and I am always so honored to have my name dropped when someone is having a wedding conversation!  I feel like people come to me with an understanding of my style of photography from reviewing the work on my website and I love that!  I love that my clients know what they want in their engagement and wedding photos and trust me to capture it.

After rescheduling their engagement session a couple of times, I knew that we had to make this last date work because their wedding is less than one month away!  Catra’s one request was that she wanted to have fun.  It’s amazing how life can place obstacles in one person’s way but grace and the love of her guy- Vernon- she found plenty of reasons to smile, laugh and dance during their engagement session.

When Catra stepped out of the car with her pearls, tulle skirt and nude heels I knew she was ready!  I love it when my couples focus on the details and make their session their own.  From talking to Catra over I found out that her and Vernon are avid movie goers and being the go-with-the-flow type of couple they are I decided to ditch one of the locations that I had planned and scouted for them and suggested we go to the movie theater.  Luckily for us the theater wasn’t busy, so we were able to get a few shots inside and outside and I have to admit this is one of my favorite engagement sessions to date.  It’s so funny that I feel like I am always saying that because I am fortunate enough to meet some pretty awesome couples, but it was a certain je ne sais quoi about these two that leads me to believe their life together will be long and meaningful!  Vernon and Catra, let’s do this again real soon!!!
