While I have been blessed to meet many people in my travels, different jobs, and multiple states in which I have lived, I can say that my friendship with Lacoya has been added value to my life. I met Lacoya 2 years ago through a mutual friend and sorority sister. We started working out together and she began to share with us the details of her wedding to her college sweetheart, Reggie. I let her know that I was a photographer and some of the things I had been doing with my business. I was honored when she asked me to be the photographer for her wedding. From that point on we shared a love of the wedding industry as she launched her event planning business- Miraculous Events. She ran several of her potential names by me, so it felt good to know that she valued my feedback. Even now, her business is headed in a different direction and I am excited to see her big reveal!

What really stands out about our friendship is that we don’t always see eye-to-eye on things and sometimes we’ve had to agree to disagree but we are able to carry on without any issue. I called Lacoya one day and randomly said, I needed to practice shooting in a new location that I’d found. She said “Oh ok, let me know how it goes”. I said “Well, I need someone to practice on!” and she got the picture that I needed her. When she asked when, I said “Is tomorrow ok?” and just like a true friend she said yes, that’s fine!

I think one thing that most of my friends have come to understand about me is that I’ve truly found my passion with photography and I have sacrificed alot of free time on the weeknights and weekends to develop into a better photographer. I love that next to my family, Lacoya is one of the biggest supporters of my dreams. So with that, here are a few photos from a last minute impromptu maternity session with Lacoya. Little Olivia will be here any day now and I can’t wait to meet her!
