When I opened her wedding inquiry what immediately caught my eye was that Idongesit “Umo” and Jessica were engaged in Greece! WHAT?!? That’s not only a dream vacation for me but a dream place to shoot a wedding or engagement session or any couple for that matter!
We made arrangements to meet and although Umo had to work the night that I met Jessica, I knew from our conversation over a glass of wine that this was a perfect fit. We connected like old friends, had a mutual affiliation to North Carolina and she was nice. Just nice…and funny. I left our meeting genuinely happy for this union that was about to take place and I was honored when she notified me a few days later that they selected me as their wedding photographer!
Umo and Jessica met at work and while they knew each other it wasn’t until a co-worker put the idea in their heads over lunch one day that they should get to know one another a little better. And so they did!
We met for their engagement session at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Jessica used to work there and always envisioned taking photos in the halls of the venue. Their outfits were the perfect compliment to the elegance that is the Kennedy Center and their chemistry was what I hope all couples share on and off camera! Here are a few of my favorites from their session!
