Melisa + Greg | Desert Maternity Session

Celebration of Love

When they married, Melissa didn’t have any issues changing her legal documents because her and Greg already had the same last name. She was a Hernandez and so was he, but they assured everyone that asked that they were not related! Their relationship is a healthy one. They are pretty active. Greg had just completed a Spartan race and was still feeling the affects of the strenuous course on his body a week later. Melisa is pretty active herself but has taken a break due to the pregnancy. A pregnancy that was 15 years in the making. If nothing else, their story is one of patience, love and faith that all things work together for good!

The gender of the baby will be a surprise and the way Melisa is carrying, it very well may be a surprise although everyone is rooting for a boy! I asked if they were sharing names or if they would be a surprise and Greg says “Wait til you hear these names, I want to see your face” then Greg exclaims “I’m going to name him Montezuma” and Melisa states “if it’s a girl, we will name her Milagro, Mila for short”. The way she rolled the “r” in Milagro was so beautiful that I secretly hopes she has a girl just to hear her name more. At 37 weeks during the shoot, we’ll know soon.

Greg and Melisa, thanks for meeting me on a beautiful afternoon in sunny Phoenix, AZ to capture this special time in your lives! I wish you a healthy and safe delivery of your baby boy or girl!
