Chris and Jasmine met during their Freshman year at UMBC when they moved into the same hall & actually right next door to each other! Chris proposed when they went on a family trip to Chris’s home country of Ethiopia. It was his first time back since he left at the age of 5 and it was her first time ever. During one of their last days in the country, they went to a beautiful hotel under the guise that they were getting tea with family friends. When we got there, Chris told Jasmine his stomach hurt and he needed to go on a walk. During their walk, he then got down on one knee and asked and Jasmine immediately began crying. Tears continue flowing when the rest of his family came out and continued to shower them with their love. On their wedding day, Chris and Jasmine were mostly looking forward to seeing all of our loved ones and having a great party to celebrate the beginning of our life together.
