To say that 2013 was an amazing year for Raheem and Kyra is actually an understatement.  A slight delay after work due to a flat tire on Kyra’s car turned later turned into a first date as payment for Raheem assisting. That first date has now turned into “A Couple of Forevers”, which happened to also be the song for their First Dance.  You can view photos from their Washington, DC and Old Town Alexandria engagement session here!

Kyra is a sweet and loving woman that knew what she needed in a mate, as told by one of her bridesmaids- Chandra.  Raheem is the talented and outgoing athlete that caused his groomsman, Ronnie, to strive to be like him.  Both approached the day with a sense of being calm, cool and collected.  Kyra joked around with her bridesmaids in her hotel room as she was having her make-up done as if it were just another day, but it wasn’t- it was her wedding day! Raheem relaxed in his room as he enjoyed lunch and watched football while his groomsmen, who he considered each to be his best men, ran the last few errands for his big day.  I could feel the excitement build as they prepared for their First Look. The moment they saw each other it was happiness followed by Kyra catching a tear, then Raheem make a joke and they were laughing as they went into their bridal portraits.

The couple decided to have an intimate ceremony with their closest friends and family at The Morrison House in Old Town Alexandria.  The boutique hotel still had their Christmas decoration up, which added to Kyra’s plan for a holiday themed wedding.  To the new Mr. & Mrs. Walker, I wish you a lifetime of joy and happiness!

It stopped raining just in time for their First Look!
