I realize that the more I write things down the more organized I feel and once each item is crossed off of my “To-Do” list, the more accomplished I feel!
I was talking to my photographer friend, Rachel, recently and she asked how do I stay organized. I shared with her my project book. It’s basically a spiral bound book that I picked up from Staples where I can list the projects that I am working on weekly. I consider it my organized “To-Do” list because previously I would have Post-it notes all over my office and in my car. Embarrassing! I couldn’t tell you the number of times that I found a Post-it note with information that I had scribbled on it in haste only to realize I had no clue what it was for. It was then that I realized that I needed a better system. After I attended the 2-day Workshop Experience with Katelyn James, I saw her method of staying organized and decided to come up with my own. The following photos are of my Project Book:
This is also what I refer back to on the days that I am not feeling motivated. There are times when I feel like I haven’t accomplished as much as I think I have so looking back at previous weeks reminds me of what I have accomplished and it also keeps me on track towards the goals that I have yet to reach. I highlight the items that have been completed!
Here are other sections of each page. I write longer term goals in the ‘next steps’ spaces if it will take longer than a week to accomplish.
