Guess what friends? It’s supposed to be close to 60 degrees today!  I think we’re getting close to turning the corner to Spring.  While I love the fresh blooms of Spring, I didn’t think our winter in Virginia was too bad.  I mean, I had to shovel snow a few times but what’s a good winter without some snow?!?  At any rate, the weather is one conversation that people will always have an opinion on and that’s okay and what makes us more human than our ability to tell it like it is!

Anywho, I am pretty excited about this past weekend’s events, so here’s a recap:

– You know you’re a homeowner when you get excited about a heavily discounted area rug!  I found a cute rug for my living room at Home Depot that was on clearance, but their inventory was gone, so obviously other people thought it was cute too!  Feeling defeated, I slowly walked up to the associate working in flooring and asked, do you all have any more of this rug, as I pointed ambiguously to an area of hundreds of rugs.  The associate got up and walked over for clarification.  He told me the display was the last one.  While I’m not the one to haggle, I did politely ask if there would be a discount for the rug.  He replied no, it’s already 75% off the original price.  I said that I would go ahead and get it but showed an expression of reluctance.  After he pulled it down and inspected it, he decided to give me an additional 50% off.  WHAT?!?!  I’ll take it!

– Saturday, I literally ran non-stop from the time I woke up until the time I went to sleep, so it will be nice to have this coming Saturday off.  My night ended with my DMV (DC, MD, VA) photographer friends went to a going away dinner for our buddy Britney Jeanine as her and her family prepare to move back to Florida.  This girl is so amazing in so many ways and I am so thankful our paths crossed!  Good luck Britney!

– Today marks the anniversary or birthday, yeah I think birthday is the better word, of my alma mater- North Carolina A&T State University- March 9, 1891, so I’ll leave you with this sneak peek of an HBCU engagement session. He’s an Aggie from NC A&T and she is a Bison from Howard University and their love of God brought them together despite the HBCU rivalries! If I had to pick side, I think you know who I was cheering for- Aggie Pride!
