When I walk into a bridal suite on the wedding day while there’s a torrential downpour happening outside, I am always worried about what emotions the bride is experiencing. Many brides spend countless hours, days, and months planning for their wedding from their colors to the small details to their ideal portrait locations, which are usually planned for outdoor areas, so when rain derails the plans, bride’s like Nicole (Nikki) just embrace it and carry on with their day! When I saw her for the first time on the wedding day, her smile lit up her room and her supportive crew of bridesmaids were prepping, chatting, and listening to music before the start of all of the festivities. It added so much calm to what could have been a stressful day, so I am always thankful when I meet the friends of the bride!
I will always remember their wedding day because of a few things, these two have so much love for one another, Blake is so caring for his now wife, and their friends and family were just nice! I feel like I have been blessed with some amazing brides and when their relatives are just as nice it makes the wedding day so much fun!
The other thing I can’t forget is Nikki’s dad’s reaction when he saw her for the first time! I mean, talk about bringing an entire room to tears…including me! Nikki’s was trying to hold back what she called the “ugly cry” but that moment was so touching that there was nothing ugly about it!
Despite the weather, this wedding day was perfect! While they shared their nuptials at a local Kingdom Hall, they returned to the Hyatt Recency Baltimore Inner Harbor for the reception and party. From the decor to the music to the food, no detail was missed and was definitely one for the record books! Blake and Nikki are currently in Jamaica on a much needed vacation!
Blake and Nikki, thank you so much for trusting me with your most important official beginning as husband and wife! You were dream clients and I wish you many years of happiness!
