They met at a friend’s party.  He thought she was pretty. She thought he was cute. He was an Eagle (NCCU).  She was a Tar Heel (UNC). Now they just need to place themselves in the right position to strike up a conversation.  Luckily, Steven knew a few of Brittany’s friends that were at the party, but he didn’t know her….until a little while later!  Fast forward to a few short months ago, the couple had been dating and Steven was offered a great career opportunity….but it was in D.C.  This opportunity meant that he would be packing up and moving from NC where he met his love, fell in love and had been discussing a future with his love. Steven had made up his mind that he couldn’t leave without Brittany knowing that he wanted to be in her life forever, so he crafted a plan.  With the help of Brittany’s family and a visit to the NC Botanical Garden to ask Brittany the big question.  As Steven put it, Brittany wanted to be in control and have the engagement happen a certain way and this time she has no control over anything..it seems that everyone knew except her! The timing couldn’t have been better, because she was able to make the move to the D.C. area along with Steven.

To introduce them to D.C. we shot their engagement session inside the National Gallery of Art and the surrounding areas, which was helped with the mini-heat wave that we had recently!!! The couple is planning a 2016 wedding and used part of their engagement session to paint their “save-the-date” onto one another which resulted in a friendly and loving paint war!  Check out a few highlights from their engagement session! xoxo
