He gave me my first camera to document life through my young eyes, and I enjoyed every opportunity to do just that. I became known as the friend with the camera! Years later, He taught me how to anticipate moments, and he was the first to train me when I found my way back to the camera in 2010. I watched my dad leave for weddings on Saturday mornings and return on Saturday afternoons with a piece of wedding cake for me. I remember seeing him develop the images in his darkroom and meet with the couple to select their photos for their wedding albums. I took it all in not realizing that one day I would be doing something similar.
I purchased my first camera as a graduation gift to myself and I was eager to just take photos with my new investment. However, accidentally and with the help of Facebook, a friend of a friend saw my photos and asked me to take her engagement and wedding photos. I happily agreed, set a price and studied as much as I could the months leading up to her wedding.
Of all the photos that I’d taken- babies, maternity, family, landscape, I was drawn in to wedding photographer. So, here I am today in my 9th year of making wedding memories with my clients. It’s been an honor to be present on the biggest day of so many of my clients’ lives, to meet their friends and family and to be able to do something I absolutely love.
